Campus Amenities: Reflection & Meditation Rooms

Reflection Room - UW Bothell

The Reflection Room is an open use space for the University of Washington Bothell community, to seek quiet time for meditation and reflection.

Location

  • The Reflection Room is located in UW1 - 007
  • No reservation is needed for use, and the room is available during University business hours.

 

Reflection Room Guidelines

  • The room is available for individual use only - not for any organized group gatherings or meetings.
  • Quiet and mutual respect are expected at all times.
  • Any bags or backpacks must be hung in the back of the room.
  • Return all items to their original location (cushions, resource materials, etc.) when leaving the Reflection Space. No equipment is to be removed from the facility.
  • Music is to be listened to through earphones or earplugs with all musical devices (e.g., iPods, MP3 players, etc.). No loud music is permitted.
  • Food and beverages (with the exception of water) are not permitted in the space.
  • Candles, burning oils, incense or any other flammable items are not permitted in the facility.
  • No posters, signs, or other displays are to be placed inside room at any time, unless first approved by the Student Life staff.
  • This room is not intended for napping or sleeping.
  • Individuals not adhering to the room guidelines will be restricted from use.

 

Questions, Concerns

If a person or activity is observed using the space inappropriately, you are encouraged to contact Student Engagement & Activities staff at 425-352-5266.

If the person or activity is an immediate threat or danger to the space, you are encouraged to contact Campus Safety at 425-352-5359.

Meditation Room - Cascadia College

The Cascadia College Meditation Room is an open space for the Cascadia community to seek quiet time for meditation and reflection.

Location 

  • The Meditation Room is located in CC3-120
  • Reservations for use are encouraged.

 

Meditation Room Guidelines

  • This is a safe space for meditation, prayer, and quiet reflection.
  • Please treat this room with respect and care.
  • Book room in 15 minute intervals using the sign-in sheet hanging outside near the door.
  • This room is reserved Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15-12:50pm for an employee meditation activity. A sign will be posted when the room is in use for this purpose.
  • Do not eat, drink, use cell phones, study, or nap in this space; use other spaces on campus to meet those needs. Those using this space for non-meditation/prayer/reflection uses will be asked to move to another space.
