There are more than 88 student-funded computer workstations in the Library for use by UW and Cascadia College students, staff, and faculty for academic purposes. These workstations provide access to databases and online resources licensed by the University of Washington Libraries, Microsoft Office software, email and Internet access. (See our software list below for more details.) Five of these workstations include legal-size flatbed scanners. We also have an adaptive technology workstation equipped with assistive hardware and software.
There are a number of laptops available for checkout ONLY by current UW Bothell and Cascadia College students for academic purposes.
Network and Wireless Access
If you have a laptop or mobile device on campus, wireless internet access is available for Current Students, Staff and Faculty via the UW Wireless network or Cascadia Wireless network. Visitors can access sites inside of the washington.edu domain while on the UW Wireless network, but will need to provide a form of photo identification and contact information to get a temporary UW NetID to access sites outside of the washington.edu domain. Ask library staff about obtaining a temporary UW NetID.
Guest Research Stations
Visitors can access all UW Libraries' resources, limited email and fee-based printing using our Guest Research Stations. These 4 computer workstations are for use by visitors for academic purposes, and provide access to databases and online resources licensed by the University Libraries, limited email access (Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Gmail) and Internet access to all Web sites with .edu, .gov, .org, .mil, .museum extensions. See the Guest Research Station Software list for more details.
