Drama Library Index of Sound Effects
Search the database by keyword for sound effects on CD and audio cassette. The collection includes sound effects from the BBC and from the Sound Ideas collection. The Sound Ideas collection includes effects from Warner Bros (Looney Toons), Hanna-Barbera (The Flintstones), Rocky and Bullwinkle, Disney, and LucasFilm as well as royalty free production music of all types.
Note: The actual sound affects are not online but are available at the Drama Library. Some of the resources are Library Use Only. You are able to copy the sound effects and music onto CDs, DVDs, and mini discs.
These 16,016 BBC Sound Effects are made available by the BBC in WAV format to download for use under the terms of the RemArc Licence. The Sound Effects are BBC copyright, but they may be used for personal, educational or research purposes, as detailed in the license.

The Vogue Archive contains the entire run of American Vogue magazine from 1892 to the present day – more than 400,000 pages in total reproduced in high-resolution color page images. This fully searchable database constitutes a treasure trove of the work of the greatest designers, photographers, stylists and illustrators of the 20th and 21st centuries. The Vogue Archive is both an essential primary source for the study of fashion and a unique record of American and international popular culture. - Folger Shakespeare Library Digital Image CollectionThis database offers access to tens of thousands of high resolution images from the Folger Shakespeare Library, including books, theater memorabilia, manuscripts, and art.
- J. Willis Sayre Photographs CollectionThe Sayre Collection consists of more than 24,000 photographs of theatrical and vaudeville performers, musicians, and entertainers who played in Seattle between about 1900 and 1955 (some of the materials date back to the 1870s). The collector was J. Willis Sayre: drama critic, journalist, promoter. The collection covers the little-studied period when Seattle had a prominent place in the development of vaudeville between 1905 and 1914. John Cort, Sullivan, and Considine and Alexander Pantages all operated out of Seattle and the Sayre Collection includes not only the publicity photographs from New York photographers, but also hundreds done in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco.
