  Getting Started

It's easy to get started doing research at the UW Friday Harbor Library. Here are some things to know:

After searching the UW Libraries Catalog, you can limit to "Friday Harbor Library."

Check out books using the checkout card in the back cover.

Print journals in the FH Library are shelved by title.

The Friday Harbor Library's home page is www.lib.washington.edu/fhl.

If you are working anywhere at the Friday Harbor Labs, you can connect to all of the UW Libraries' subscription databases and e-journals without needing a password.

If you are off the Labs' property, access is restricted to UW students, faculty and staff.

You may request materials from any UW Library using the online request form: http://www.lib.washington.edu/fhl/requests

If you have any questions or need some research assistance, contact Maureen Nolan, Head of the Friday Harbor Library, at nolan@uw.edu or by phone at 206-685-2126.
