In EBSCO (includes Criminal Justice Abstracts)

Before searching, under Limits, check the box next to Peer Reviewed. 


In ProQuest (includes Social Services Abstracts)

Before searching, next to Limit to, check the box next to Peer Reviewed.


From a citation

Use Ulrich's Periodicals Directory   [UW restricted].

Search for the journal title.  On the result screen, look for the "referee shirt" symbol  next to the jounal title.

Note: if you do not see the symbol, click on the journal title.  Next to Refereed, look for YES.   Refereed = Peer Reviewed.

Finding Full Text

From Databases

In most databases, if the full text of the article is not available, you will see a Check for Full Text button. 

This will search for the article and:

a) take you to the article - look for PDF full text,

b) provide links to search the catalog by journal title or ISSN, or 

c) link you to Interlibrary Loan so you can request a copy of the article.
