BISSKL 375: Research Writing Seminar (Atkinson): Find Articles

Interdisciplinary Databases

To find scholarly, news or magazine articles you can start by using the following interdisciplinary databases (meaning they cover a range of subject areas).

Subject Specific Databases & Resources

I also recommend using our in depth Subject Guides to find the appropriate resources for your topic.

How can I get the full text of an article?

image of "Check for full text" button

Click on the purple "Check for full text" button – this button will attempt to connect you to the full text article if it is owned by the UW.

Is my journal article peer reviewed or refereed?

Search for your journal title (NOT article title) in Ulrichsweb.

If you see a little referee shirt icon - Refereed icon - or the journal's record indicates it is refereed, it's likely (but not guaranteed) your article has been peer reviewed.
