Evaluate Your Globalization Sources

The following questions should be asked of the globalization research resources you find:

Authorship:

Person

  • Who wrote the information?
  • What are their credentials?
  • What are their professional or organizational affiliations?

Organization

  • What is the mission of the organization?
  • Where does the funding for the organization come from?
  • Who sits on the organization’s board?

Point of View and Bias:

  • What kind of evidence is provided for the information presented?
  • Is the information consistent with information from other sources?

References to other sources:

  • Does the source include a bibliography, reference list or links to other web sites?
  • Do the sources referenced appear credible?

If you have questions about the credibility of an organization, statistic, report, article or book, it's recommended to compare the source to other sources of information to ensure that your source is accurate and reliable.
