Chu, Frances: About Me

About Frances Chu MLIS, MSN

Welcome

Library Liaisons serve the University of Washington health sciences community by sharing information about library collections, services, department-specific resources, procedures for requesting new materials, and by supporting the teaching, clinical, and research needs of each department.

Welcome to University of Washington! I am the Clinical Liaison and Content Librarian for the Health Sciences Library. I support the clinicians and staff of UW Medicine with its four hospitals and variety of outpatient clinics in addition to the School of Nursing with Stephen Gabrielson. I have worked as a librarian with a focus on health information since 2006. Prior to being a librarian, I worked as a registered nurse in medical-surgical units and cardiac/telemetry units in hospitals and as a family nurse practitioner. I am well versed in evidence-based practice, health literacy, scholarly communications and open access/open data. I am also interested in research support from grants to data management to publishing, healthcare informatics, information/data visualization and quality improvement.
