HBR Restrictions

  • Harvard Publishing prohibits the use of HBR articles as course readings. Article sharing with enrolled students and uploading in Canvas are not permitted under the Libraries license.
  • Corresponding to the license restrictions, most HBR articles in EBSCO are locked to prevent printing, saving, and sharing.
  • Faculty may request class-use permissions through the Harvard Business Publishing educators website. Most articles involve a fee of $4 to $8 per student.

Harvard Case Studies

  • Harvard Business Cases are not available through the UW Libraries, nor can the library request cases through Interlibrary Loan.
  • Faculty and students may purchase Harvard cases on the Harvard Business Publishing educators website. Most cases involve a student expense of less than $10 each.
