Scholarly articles on American & Canadian history
Link your search terms using the AND connector. For example: emmett till and newspapers. On the search results screen, use the options on the left toolbar to narrow your search results. To find the fulltext of the article (if not provided directly in the database), click on the "Check for Full Text" button and work your way through the screens. Not all articles will be online, some may only be in print, others may not be available at the UW.
Google Scholar
Because scholarly material for this class crosses disciplinary lines it can be useful to search the content of articles & books via Google Scholar.

1. Click on the 3 lines in the upper left to get to the Google Scholar menu
2. Go to Settings, then "Library Links"
3. Type Washington in the Library Links search box and click 'Find Library' button.
4. Select UW from the list and save preferences.
