Emphasis is on current research. No period is excluded if relevant to curriculum and research needs.
b. Geographical
Coverage is global with emphasis on the North Pacific Ocean, Arctic Ocean, the Bearing Sea, Puget Sound and appraoches, and North American coastal waters.
c. Language
English language material receives primary consideration. Currently published works in Western European, Japanese, Chinese and Slavic languages which support curriculum and research needs are acquired.
d. Format
Monographs, serials, newsletters, trade journals, government publications, dissertations, theses, atlases, maps and charts, translations and technical reports are collected.
