UW Libraries: Collection Goals

The UW Libraries is committed to providing convenient and timely access to collections and information resources that are outstanding with respect to their quality, depth, diversity, format and currency to support the research and teaching missions of the University of Washington.

Subject Definition

Atmospheric Sciences is a wide-ranging discipline that concentrates on the fundamental atmospheric processes of weather, climate, and air quality. Topics can range from weather forecasting, global warming, air quality, mountain weather, marine weather, El Nino, the ozone hole, ice ages, to the weather of Mars. Atmospheric Sciences considers problems that are both scientifically challenging and critical for the welfare of modern society. Areas of research include monitoring earthquakes and volcanic activity.
