Useful links and starting points for locating primary and secondary resources.

Learn about a particular year in history

Chronologies or timelines allow you to peruse the major events of a given year.  Below is a selection of timelines available in the Reference section of the UW Tacoma Library.  Most of the chronologies in print are much more detailed than those online (there is one online timeline at the bottom).  It is always a good idea to check several chronologies as they can differ quite a bit in the events they choose to include.

Getting Background Information

Reference Resources are excellent tools to help you learn about your topic.  You will NOT want to cite them in your paper.  They are for learning about your topic not for use as one of your scholarly resources.
