Climatology & Climate Change: Citing Sources in CSE style

It is important to cite sources in order to give credit to those whose work you are building on. At UW Tacoma, the sciences use a modification of CSE Name-Year style, developed by the Council of Science Editors. The major modification to CSE style: cite nearly all items, including Books and journal articles accessed online, as print resources.

When you find a source you'd like to use, look for the citation symbol, usually a quotation mark. Choose CSE style and copy the citation into your document. Since the citations are auto-generated, be sure to check the citation for accuracy!

The Writing Center has created a concise guide for citing sources in modified CSE style.
