Museology or museum studies is the study of museums. It explores the history of museums and their role in society, as well as the activities they engage in, including curating, preservation, public programming, and education. The University of Washington's Museology Master's of Art program is an interdisciplinary program that includes a wide variety of subject areas, including anthropology, sociology, zoology, art history, education and law, and skills such as evaluation, advocacy, and grant writing.
