Finding High Quality Images

Having access to high quality images of artwork is important in interpreting the work's meaning.  The ability to see fine details, color gradations, and color and light contrasts are key to looking at images critically.

There are a number of ways to acquire high quality images of artwork:

  1. Scanning images from a book and saving it as a .png file which can be resized
  2. Museum website which offers high resolution images
  3. Artstor which has high quality .png image files and lets you zoom into details on the website
  4. Artist websites are also valuable when looking for high quality images
