General Databases

To find scholarly, news or magazine articles you can start by using the following interdisciplinary databases (meaning they cover a range of subject areas), or you can search in the subject-specific databases listed on this page.

Subject Databases

The databases listed contain citations and sometimes the full text of journal articles related to particular topics. Depending on your research question, you may want to explore other subject-specific resources which you can identify through our Subject Research Guides.

Information Timeline

The information timeline can help you determine which types of sources to look for based on the type and depth of information you need: Once you know which type of sources you want to look for, you can more efficiently decide where you need to look.

Is This Journal Peer Reviewed?

Ulrichsweb is a directory of scholarly journals that you can search to discover information about any journal you are curious about. Just copy and paste your journal title into the main search box. All peer reviewed or "refereed" journals will have an icon next to them that looks like a little referee jersey.
