Diversity in the Legal Profession

Diversity in the legal profession, from several angles. Includes organizations, practice advice for individual and employers, and studies of the profession.

Introduction

The legal profession is demographically diverse—but people from underrepresented groups continue to face challenges getting jobs and advancing in their careers. And the organizations that want to foster diversity face their own challenges. This  guide provides links to sources offering advice (to law students and to employers). It also has a section on studies of the profession.

For people who enjoy biographies, the final section links to books profiling some pioneering women lawyers and lawyers of color. Note the box with links to online video interviews.
