Washington Discipline System

Washington Cases

Disciplinary cases are captioned In the Matter of the Disciplinary Proceeding Against [Attorney's Name] (or In re Disciplinary Proceeding ...).

Search for Supreme Court disciplinary cases as you would search for any other cases, in free databases (e.g., Google Scholar or MRSC) or commercial databases (e.g., Bloomberg Law, Lexis Advance, or WestlawNext).

In the West Key Number System (in a print digest, like West's Washington Digest or on WestlawNext), see topic 45, Attorney and Client, key numbers 34-61.

Briefs in disciplinary cases are not as widely available as in other types of cases. The law library's print and microfiche Washington Supreme Court briefs do not include them. Some are available on Westlaw.
