UW Tacoma is situated on the land of the Puyallup people. The UW Tacoma Library recognizes the Puyallup Tribe and its elders past and present for their ongoing efforts to sustain tribal sovereignty, preserve their culture, and care for this place.

Values: Supporting Undocumented Students

Standing along UW President Cauce, I fully support the rights of undocumented students to an education and to live free from the fear of deportation. The threats to immigrants in our community are real, including mass deportations, detentions, and heightened border militarization. I will take actions to create safer, supportive learning environments by being available to listen, empathizing while acknowledging that everything may not turn out the way I hope it does, helping students find resources, and following up after our conversation.
