Dog Days of Summer banner

Did you know that the "Dog Days of Summer" traditionally take place between July 3 and August 11 each year, when the Sun is in the Canis Major, or Great Dog, constellation? This time is also known to be the warmest part of the Summer in the northern hemisphere! In that spirit, we've collected our favorite books about pets and animals, astronomy, and some great Summer reads for your enjoyment.

UW also knows a little something about Dog Days/Dawg Daze -- UW's Dawg Daze is the university's tradition of welcoming students back to campus, helping you get connected to your campus community! For more Dawg Daze info, see the Resources on the left.
