The University of Washington Libraries does not accept unsolicited gifts of books or other library materials due to space constraints and significant costs associated with sorting, reviewing, and processing donated material. The Libraries reserves the right to dispose of unsolicited materials in any manner it deems appropriate.
In certain instances, Special Collections may consider potential gifts of rare books, manuscripts, individual or family papers, organizational or business records, photographs, media, and other materials that support the research mission of Special Collections. For more information, see the Libraries Gifts Program.
The purpose of the Endowment is to support the purchase of books, films and other materials, projects and initiatives that will strengthen the Libraries' collections in human rights.
The J. Eleanor Pearson Endowed Library Fund for Human Rights was established in 2002 to honor the memory of J. Eleanor Pearson by her daughter Glenda Pearson as a fitting tribute to the achievements and values represented by the life of Eleanor Pearson and her interests in justice and equal opportunity for all peoples.
