Wellness at Odegaard Library: Wellness Room

Wellness Room Overview

Looking for a quiet, private space where you can temporarily escape without leaving campus? Created to promote student well-being, Odegaard Library's Wellness Room offers space for students to de-stress, rest, pray, and be creative. 

The Wellness Room is located in the Odegaard Undergraduate Library, on the 3rd floor in Room 326. Take the main staircase and continue straight or take the elevators, take a left and another left before the quiet study area. 

Wellness Room Collection

The Wellness Room includes a small collection of materials to support a variety of activities in the Wellness Room. Topics include reflective practices, resilience, joy, compassion, and creativity. Items in this collection should remain in the room and cannot be checked out. For similar materials that can be checked out, visit the Life Skills Collection on the 2nd floor of Odegaard Library. 

What's in the Room?

The Wellness Room has a variety of furniture and features to help students relax and care for themselves while studying and working in Odegaard Library.

Highlights of the room include: 

  • Four resting chairs with side tables
  • A meditation and mindfulness area
  • A large table for art and puzzles
  • Art supplies and relaxation activities stored on the shelves
  • Plants and other nature elements
  • Flexible seating such as floor chairs and bean bag chairs

Students are encouraged to use the Wellness Kits and Wellness Technology in the room. You can check out materials at the 2nd floor Information Desk.

Enhance your time in the room by using some digital resources for wellness.

Room Guidelines

A full list of room uses and community guidelines is located in the Wellness Room. Highlights include: 

  • Please leave the Wellness Room as you’d like to find it. 
  • We encourage use of the Wellness Room as technology-free space, unless technology is used to access meditation or other relaxation material. The Wellness Room is not a study space.
  • You are welcome to use the items placed in the room by the Libraries; when finished, please return the items to their place. Please keep the Wellness Room furniture in the room.
  • Practice respectful and thoughtful communication with others.
