Creating an Ongoing Search or Alert in PsycInfo

After you conduct a search, you can create an alert so you get an email update every time a new article on your topic is added to the database.

  • Connect to PsycInfo using the UW Libraries link.
  • Click on MyEBSCO and create an account on the EBSCO platform so you can save searches and references and create alerts.
  • Develop a search strategy to find articles on your topic.
  • When you're satisfied with your search strategy, click on the 3 dots just above the search results to create an alert while you're logged into MyEBSCO.

Create and Run Your Search

The 3 dots lead to an option to "create alert"

Creating an Ongoing Search or Alert in PubMed

After you have created a search strategy in PubMed, click on "Create Alert" under the search box. You'll be prompted to log in to your MyNCBI account and save your alert.

PubMed alert options

When you set up the email alert, I recommend choosing the maximum number of items so you don't miss relevant references.
