Local Zine Fests

Seattle ZineFest
Seattle Zine Fest is an annual one-day celebration of zines and DIY culture in Seattle.
Seattle Independent Bookstore Day
Occurring every last Saturday of April, Independent Bookstore Day is a nationwide celebration of local, independent booksellers. Many of the participating stores are involved in the world of zines and self-published books, making this a great event to find and learn more about zines!
Seattle Anarchist Bookfair
The Seattle Anarchist Bookfair typically takes places in September and is a great place to meet PNW-based zinesters and publishers, engage in workshops and discussions, and learn more about the fascinating interplay between anarchism and zinedom.
Print, Copy, Paste Zinefest
UW's first zinefest, this event featured work made on campus by UW students and faculty.
Bremerton Zine Fest
The West Sound's first zine and small press festival, Bremerton Zine Fest hosts festivals and zine swaps throughout the year.
Olympia ZineFest
Olympia ZineFest takes place every spring in Olympia, celebrating the culture of the region through zines and DIY self-published booklets.
PCNW Photo Zine and Book Fair
Sunday, August 17th from 12-5pm, PCNW will host a gathering of artists, collectives, and organizations to showcase and sell their photo-based publications (zines, books, magazines, prints, etc.)
Portland Zine Symposium
Since 2001, Portland Zine Symposium has hosted a yearly conference which celebrates DIY publishing and zine culture.

Zine Organizations and Small Press Publishers

SPL ZAPP Collection
The Zine Archive & Publishing Project (ZAPP) Zine Collection features over 30,000 zines, minicomics and other self-published and small press titles which were donated to the Library by Richard Hugo House. The ZAPP room is open on Saturday afternoons to the public, and is an incredible resource for understanding and exploring the history of zines in Seattle!
Paper Press Punch
Located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, Paper Press Punch is a community-focused Risograph print and book studio. They offer workshops, open studio hours, and for-hire printing services. After completing their "Intro to Risograph Printing and Operation" workshop, you can rent their studio for your projects.
Push/Pull
Push/Pull is a Seattle-based art collective, gallery, and small press supporting independent creators of comics, zines, and illustration. They offer workshops, artist residencies, and a storefront that features local and underground publications, making them a key hub for zine culture in Ballard.
Short Run
Short Run is a nonprofit organization that celebrates small press and independent publishing, with a focus on comics and zines. Based in Seattle, they support artists year-round through workshops, youth programs, and their widely attended annual festival, helping to amplify DIY voices in the Pacific Northwest.

Zine Hug is a micropress publishing comics and zines in Seattle, WA.
Olympia Zine Library
Timberland Regional Library, serving five counties in Southwest Washington State, houses a collection of over 2000 zines at their Olympia and Lacey locations.
QZAP - The Queer Zine Archive
QZAP is a volunteer-run archive dedicated to preserving and promoting queer zines from around the world. While based nationally, it includes contributions from zinesters in the Pacific Northwest and serves as a resource for LGBTQ+ history, activism, and self-expression through zines.

PNW University Zine Collections

University of Puget Sound Collins Library Zine Collection
The UPS Collins Library Zine Collection was started after an initial donation from the Zine Pavilion at the American Library Association Annual Conference. The collection includes zines on a wide variety of topics and includes student-made zines as well.
Western Washington University Zine Corner
WWU Libraries has a dedicated "Zine Corner" for their collection, a cozy space for their collection which emphasizes zines made by BIPOC, womxn, disabled, immigrant, and/or LGBTQIA+ zinesters.
Reed Zine Library
Reed College has a sizable zine collection of over 900 zines in their library, which is open to the public. The library engages the community through events like the annual Reed Zine Fest and zine-making workshops.
