The Library opened its Sensory Friendly Space in Summer 2024, and this collection is designed to support and augment its mission. Including a variety of resources about neurodivergency, autism, ADHD, and other neurological and developmental conditions, as well as materials related to disability studies and justice more broadly, this collection seeks to focus on Own Voice resources as much as possible, i.e. books written about neurodivergency by people who identify as neurodivergent.
The print collection was funded, in part, through a UW Libraries Kenneth S. and Faye G. Allen Library Endowment Award.
