About Spotlight Learning: Prison Education and Abolitionist Approaches

Each year, UW Tacoma librarians select a topic in alignment with building a collection that “strives to be antiracist, accessible, sustainable, interdisciplinary and open to diverse ways of knowing” and work together to purchase books around that topic. During the 2024-2025 academic year, we chose prison education as our focus in an effort to support and uplift the work of the Husky Post Prison Pathways program. We collected a wide variety of print and digital materials in several disciplinary areas, presented here with additional resources from existing collections.
