Getting Started

There are 2 approaches that you can use to find articles in professional journals:

1. Use the "Articles" tab to find an ARTICLE DATABASE to search a large number of journals all at once.

2. Use the "E-Journals" tab to go a SINGLE PUBLICATION directly and search for articles within that publication.

Journal Search

Search or browse journal titles held at UW. Can't find it? Request it through Interlibrary Loan.

Searching E-Journals

  • To browse a list of E-Journals in Architecture available via the UW Libraries go to the UW Libraries Catalog Advanced Search
  • On the first line type in "Architecture"
  • Select the "Journals" from the Materials Type dialog box to the right
  • To find a specific e-journal:
    • On the second line add the name of the journal you are seeking, e.g., "Architectural Record"

E-Journals in Urban Design and Planning

There are 2 approaches that you can use to find articles in professional journals on urban design and planning:

1.) Use the "Articles" tab to find an ARTICLE DATABASE to search a large number of journals all at once.

2.) Use the "E-Journals" tab to go a single publication directly and search within it. Most e-journals have search interfaces allowing you to find articles only within that publication.

Browse History E-Journals

Browse through history-related e-journals by region. Keep in mind that these lists are incomplete and reflect just a portion of the history journals available in the Libraries both in print and online.

Major History E-Journal Collections

The following collections of electronic journals include a substantial number of history-related titles.Though these collections can be searched, the best way to identify journal articles (secondary sources) on a given topic is to use the databases listed under the tabs Finding Articles, History by Region and History by Topic.
