Business Analyst (BA) is an extension of ESRI's ArcGIS and AGOL that enables GIS-supported demographic mapping for analysis of data for business-related purposes. BA can be used to geocode locations to create maps and export data into reports.
ArcGIS Pro vs. ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Business Analyst in AGOL uses credits to run while Business Analyst in ArcGIS Pro does not use any credits. For large batches of geocoding, use Business Analyst on desktop to avoid accruing significant fees for credits. ESRI BA contains business, consumer spending, and demographic data that are consistently updated to reflect the most up-to-date information.
Variable Lists groups together a set of variables for easy access to frequent variables or variables relevant to a specific topic. Existing variable lists can be found in the Catalog pane under the Business Analyst folder.
Trade areas are define market areas and set by user to analyze trade activity within the boundaries defined by a variety of different parameters.
The Business Analyst extension provides a toolbox, filled with tools specifically to be used on trade areas. More information about this toolbox can be found on ESRI's BA Tool References page.
Users can organize their data into clear and concise reports at the end of their analysis. The Business Analyst extension is equipped with multiple tools that aid users in producing any reports or graphics of their findings.
