Make an Interlibrary Loan Request

If UW Libraries does not have an item you are looking for, you can make a request for the item using our Interlibrary Loan service. But, before you can use this service, you must register your UW NetID and password at http://www.lib.washington.edu/ill

Once you have completed the registration, there are multiple ways to make a request:

Option 1.) Make a request using UW Libraries Search

UW Libraries Search will display books, articles, and other resources that are relevant to your search, even if it is not currently available at UW Libraries.

Resources that are available will be marked with a green checkmark:

Available Print Book

Resources not available will be marked with either a red "i" or a gray "?":

Unavailable eBook

Unavailable Article

You can request both available and unavailable items for delivery to your preferred library location. Simply choose the, "Availability & Request Options" tab and select your preferred request option.

TIP: You will be prompted to login with your UW NetID and password to complete the request.

Option 2.) Complete an Interlibrary Loan Form

You can make a request by completing the UW Libraries Interlibrary Loan form.

This form can be found at http://www.lib.washington.edu/ill

Once you have registered your UW NetID and password, you can choose to either, "Request a scan" or "Request a physical item."

Use "Request a scan" to received digital copies of articles directly to your UW email.

Use "Request a physical item" to have books, microfilm, or other physical materials delivered to one of UW Libraries locations.
