• Suzzallo and Allen Libraries are the major locations for museology resources in print.
• Introductory and lower-level undergraduate materials may be found in Odegaard Library, Bothell and Tacoma libraries. 
• Electronic resources such as databases may be found on the Museology Research Guide. 
• Specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, and bibliographies may be located in the Reference Section in Suzzallo Library.

a. Chronological

Overwhelming emphasis is on current concerns and current materials. This may include materials published in the past when time and resources permit, but this seldom occurs.

b. Geographical

We collect materials published in the United States about American museums, primarily. Items published in English in other countries about museums may be collected if the content applies to current problems, concerns, or interests.

c. Language

Primary collecting emphasis is on English and English language translations.

d. Format

Books, e-books, and e-serials are the primary formats purchased, but audio, video, microforms, and research databases are included in the collection

e. Exclusions

Materials of a purely popular nature, workbooks, and photographic essays are generally not collected. Textbooks may be purchased on a selective basis.
