Online Sources of CNE

Below are listed websites offering on-line CNE. Every CNE provider has its own procedure for issuing CNE credits, please enquire with the course organizer if you have specific questions.

Sites offering free or low cost online CNE. Most sites are commercial and require personal registration:

  • HEAL-WA - CNE and CME offered online through Dynamed and Nursing Reference Center for members. Credits available: AMA, AAFP, accredited by the ANCC. 
  • MedPage Today - CNE and CME offered online for breaking medical news. Credits available: various, accredited by the ACCME. 
  • MedScape CME Today - CNE and CME  offered online on a variety of topics in multiple formats. Credits available: various, accredited by the ACCME/ANCC.
  • Nurse.com - A large variety of online CNE topics offered in multiple formats by Gannett Education. Both free and fee-based offerings available. Credits available: accredited by the ANCC.
  • PRIME - CNE and CME offered online from a variety of sources in a variety of topics in multiple formats. Also show a listing of live offerings. Credits available: various, AMA, accredited by the ACCME/ANCC.

Sites offering fee based programs for online CNE:

  • Contemporary Forums - CNE offered online with an associated fee. Also show a listing of live offerings. Credits available: accredited by ANCC and ACCME. 
  • Lippincott’s Nursing Center.com - CNE offered online from a variety of journal sources on a variety of topics in multiple formats. Courses have an associated fee. Credits available: accredited by the ANCC. 
  • Nursing CEU.com (Wild Iris Medical Education, Inc.) - Online courses with listings by subject and by title. Price and contact hours listed with each course. Credits available: accredited by ANCC.
  • PESI HealthCareCNE offered online, on CD and in-person on a variety of topics. Credits available: accredited by the ANCC. 

Sites offering journal and newsletter articles for online CNE:

  • Lippincott’s Nursing Center.com - CNE offered from "articles from over 50 trusted nursing journals, including AJN and Nursing2010." Credits may have an associated fee. Credits available: accredited by ANCC. 
  • Nurse Advise-ERR - CNE offered semi-annually "... covering the previous six issues of the Nurse Advise-ERR newsletter. To obtain the credit, nurses must read the prior issues and answer questions posted on our website."
