The Office of the Ombud serves the UW community by providing high quality, client-focused services for preventing, managing, navigating and resolving conflict at the UW.

Title IX and other federal and state laws collectively prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender expression, pregnant or parenting status, and LGBTQ identity. These laws impose legal requirements and protections that serve as a foundation from which UW has created policies, practices, services, and programs that work in concert to advance equity for students, staff, and faculty of all identities.

This website provides victims/survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, domestic violence, stalking, and sexual harassment an array of resources that reflect the University’s commitment to preventing and responding to sex- and gender-based violence, harasment, and discrimination.

The Livewell Confidential Advocates provides a safe and confidential space to help students, faculty and staff identify what they want or need after an incident of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking or sexual harassment has occurred.

The Civil Rights Investigation Office investigates complaints made about University employees and students that raise concerns relating to civil rights such as protection from discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual misconduct.

Student Legal Services (SLS) is an on-campus law office that provides a safe and confidential space for all UW-Seattle, Tacoma, and Bothell students who have legal questions or concerns. Some examples of the kinds of cases that this office can help with include: Immigration, Landlord/Tenant disputes, Protection Orders, Wills and Powers of Attorney, Name and Gender Marker Changes, Auto Collisions and Insurance Issues, and more.
