As you finish you plan, you may wish to change who can view your DMP. All plans start out being only visible to yourself and individuals you have added under the Collaborators tab. DMPTool has three visibility options:
Before you set the visibility, ensure that you have answered at least 50% of the questions in the White Plan tab (required) and that the plan is not flagged as a mock project (required). You can change this setting in the Project Details tab.
An ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor Identifier) is a persistent identifier that links you to your work. Read the Health Sciences Library's guide to ORCID to learn more about why and how to register for one.
You can link your DMPTool account with your ORCID via DMPTool's 3rd Party Applications page.
DMP IDs are digital object identifiers (DOIs) for data management plans. Learn more about DOIs and other persistent identifiers in our guide to persistent identifiers. DMP IDs are a useful way to link the plan to project outputs like datasets and journal articles which enables you to demonstrate compliance with your funder's requirements.
To register your plan for a DMP ID, ensure that you have:
Once you have met these requirements, simply click the Register plan button at the bottom of the Finalize tab.
At any point during the writing process, you may download your DMP plan. DMPTool allows you to download the plan in a variety of formats:
You may also select whether you would like the file to include, a project details coversheet, section headings, question text, and any unanswered questions. If you choose to download your plan as a PDF, you can also adjust your plan's typeface, font size, and margins to fit your project proposal if necessary.
To set your preferences and download your plan, navigate to the Download tab while you are editing your plan or click on Download under the Actions menu for your plan on your DMPTool Dashboard.
