Use UW Libraries Search to find books.
- Keyword - broadest type of search. Type in a keyword or words that broadly describe your topic. For example: "water currents," "marine food webs," seawater. On the results screen choose the Resource Type "print book" or "e-book" from the left toolbar. Try searching with additional terms to narrow your search, e.g., water currents AND "Puget Sound," or use related terms like "coastal currents" or "Salish Sea." You can also search on topics such as "marine geology" or "biological oceanography." Use quotation marks to search for phrases. Use an asterisk to search for plurals or word forms, e.g., "marine geo*" would search for geology OR geophysics.
- Title - search for a specific book by title. For example:
"Physical Oceanography and Climate" On the results screen choose the Resource Type "print book" from the left toolbar. This will eliminate any book reviews that were found.
- Author - search for books written by a specific author. Type in the name of the author in quotations. For example: "Kris Karnauskas". On the results screen choose the Resource Type "print book" or "e-book" from the left toolbar. This will eliminate any book reviews and articles that were found.
Note down the library name and the call number -- you will need this information to locate the book.
