Collection Guidelines: Japanese: Related Local & Regional Collections

• Center for Research Libraries (CRL): Recommendations for purchase or expensive, low use materials may be made to the Center for Research Libraries.  Contact Collection Management Services.
• Greater Western Library Alliance (GWLA):  University of Washington Libraries subscribe to JapanKnowledge (database) with the member institutions of GWLA.

Cooperative Collection Development Working Group: Communicate with other Japanese Collections in North America and exchange the collection trends and focus of each of these schools in order to avoid unnecessary duplicates within the continent.

§  University of Washington Libraries is a member of Global ILL Framework (GIF) program which allows our local users borrow resources from the member libraries in Japan.

§  National Diet Library's Inter-library Loan Service is another route that the University of Washington's affiliated users can loan items from Japan.
