Over 3,200 World War II radio news programs from the Milo Ryan Phonoarchive are now available for listening on the Media Arcade’s Archival Jukebox (3rd floor, Allen Library North, University of Washington Libraries, Seattle). These 750 hours of recordings stretch from January 1939 to October 1945 and form the core of the Phonoarchive. While all 1,000 reels in the Phonoarchive have been digitized and preserved, we are still working to make post-WWII contents available on the Jukebox. Let us know if you are coming and we will do our best to be sure the recordings you are interested in are loaded onto the Jukebox. And if you can't make it to Seattle, we may be able to provide access to a limited number of recordings for research purposes only. Contact as at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to the Kenneth S. and Faye G. Allen Library Endowment for supporting this work.
