Collection Guidelines: Korean Studies: Scope

These are the guidelines by which materials are purchased for the Korean Studies collection of the UW Libraries (Seattle Campus).

Scope

Chronological

No limitations

Geographical

Korea includes both North and South Korea.

Language

No limitations, but materials in Korean and English languages are emphasized.

Format

Electronic, print and non-print materials are all collected: monographs, serials, conference papers, reference works, government documents, maps, audio-visual materials, electronic resources online, and etc.

Exclusions

Translated works of Western literature are not included in the collection unless they address a special need, e.g. Korean language learning for heritage class, etc.
