DynaMedex Help Guide

Information about how to navigate and use DynaMedex, which includes Micromedex content on the DynaMed platform.

Reauthentication

You may receive a message instructing you to reauthenticate your affiliation with the UW. This message may appear when you log in to your personal DynaMedex account and/or you may receive an email about reauthentication. Some folks are unable to log in to their personal DynaMedex account and find reauthentication resolves the issue.

The process described below will help you reauthenticate.

Timeline

You will be prompted to reauthenticate after 90 days if you have not done so already.

Purpose

To verify you are still a currently affiliated with the UW, whether faculty, staff, student, or researcher.

Reason

Compliance with UW Libraries contracts with vendors; these contracts typically allow current UW affiliates to use Libraries resources remotely.

More info for alumni and visitors regarding access to Libraries resources.

Reauthentication Process

  1. Clear your browser cache, especially if you've been working in DynaMedex for a while - sometimes that's all it takes to clear up a database issue!
  2. Login to DynaMedex with your UW NetID.
  3. Login to your personal DynaMedex account. This may have happened automatically when you signed in with your NetID (look in upper right corner for Login option or your name).
  4. DynaMedex should now work on the web and mobile app by only logging in to your personal DynaMedex account for 90 days.
  5. After 90 days, you will need to reauthenticate by following these steps again.
    • To avoid the 90-day reauthentication message, you must access DynaMedex via the library's website to regularly reset the timer for 90 days.

Password Expired

You may run into an error on your mobile device that states your password has expired. Here are the steps to address this issue; most of the process can be accomplished on mobile or desktop, although step 5 will require your mobile device.

  1. Go to DynaMedex Lock icon
  2. Click on Micromedex in the upper right.
  3. Click on Mobile Application Access in the upper right of the new window that opened.
  4. Click on Micromedex Native Mobile Apps (Offline access, included with content subscription).
  5. Follow the instructions there on your mobile device.
