Paying fines

Fines may be paid online, by phone, in person or by mail. Tip: If you need to pay fines in order to lift a library block, the quickest way to do so is by phone (206-543-1174).

1. Click Your Library Account from the Campus Library Homepage, or click on Your Library Account from the Quick Links menu found anywhere on the library's website.

You may be prompted to log in with your UW NetID.

Your Library Account button on Campus Library Homepage  or  Your Library Account link from Quick Links menu

2. Click Fines & Fees to view balance due. Then click on Pay Fines to pay any outstanding balance online. This will take you to a form hosted by UW Libraries.

3. You can also pay by phone at (206) 543-1174, in person at the Seattle Campus Library Account Services, or by mail.

Appealing Fines

Any library borrower may appeal library fines, fees or replacement costs through an online appeal form. To submit an appeal, use the form linked here. If you need assistance with the online form, or are unable to submit the online form, please contact Library Account Services for assistance.

You can appeal fines for a variety of reasons, including library error, personal emergency, or financial hardship.

Decisions about fine appeals come at the end of the quarter when you submitted the form--for example, you would hear about an appeal filed in October after the end of Autumn quarter, in December.

Learn more about the appeals process, and see a detailed FAQ, on this page.
