Campus Library FAQ: How long does the item I requested stay on the Hold Shelf for? Can I extend the hold?

Frequently asked questions at the UWB/CC Campus Library

How long does the item I requested stay on the Hold Shelf for?

Once a book or other item that you've requested has been delivered to the Campus Library, it will be available for you to pick up at the Information Desk on the first floor for 7 days. You will recieve an automated email when your item is available to pick up.

Can I extend the hold?

If you need more time to pick up an item on hold, the hold can be extended for 7 more days, unless someone else has also placed a hold on the same item.

To extend a hold, or inquire about the status of a hold, please email the Campus Library Circulation staff at botcirc@uw.edu, or call (425) 352-5340.

Holds on items that belong to UW Libaries can generally be extended more than once. Holds on items requested through Summit Borrowing or Interlibrary Loan can only be extended one time.
