Sources can be pulled from the UW Libraries Catalog through the following steps:
1. Conduct a search in the UW Libraries Catalog
2. Select the icon for the Zotero Browser Extension on your toolbar
3. From the list of sources that appears, select the one you wish to add
4. On the top right of the screen, choose the folder to send your citation and click 'Done'
Zotero can save references from most library catalogs and databases including WorldCat, PubMed, CINAHL or Cochrane. Zotero maintains a list of compatible sites, although many sites that do not appear on this list also work.
When Zotero detects that you are looking at a book or article in a catalog or database, or recognizes websites such as Google Scholar, Library Thing, or National Library of Medicine, you'll see a book, page, or folder icon appear in the address bar of your browser.
If you are on a page with a single search result, you will see the book or page icon. Click on the icon and Zotero will automatically save the citation.
If you are on a page of search results with many items, you will see a folder icon. Click on that folder icon to get a list of the items on the page and save the ones you want.
In Chrome and Firefox, browser extensions can be found in the puzzle piece icon in the upper right corner of your window. The Zotero connector icon should be there, and you can click the little pushpin icon to "pin" it to your taskbar. In Safari, the extensions menu can be found under the "Safari" menu in the bar at the top of your screen.
