Starting Points for eBooks

Did you know the UW Libraries owns or has access to 1,000,000 ebooks? Below are three major collections of ebooks available. Other ebook collections can be found on the Collections A-Z or Collections by Subject pages of this guide. Ebooks are also discoverable through UW Libraries Search.

EBSCOhost ebook collection
Books on all subjects from a wide range of academic publishers. During platform maintenance on Tuesday November 25, 2025, functionality will be temporarily limited to reading eBooks online, downloading chapters, and reading existing checkouts offline.
JSTOR
Scholarly journals and books in all disciplines.
Project Muse
Collection of humanities & social sciences electronic journals & 20,000+ ebooks.
ProQuest Ebook Central
Books on all subjects from a wide range of academic publishers.

How to find ebooks

Enter the title or search terms you are looking for in UW Libraries Search
Filter your results by selecting "UW Libraries" from the drop-down menu beside the search box. This will limit your results to ebooks that can be accessed at UW. Then select the filter "eBooks" under the Resource Type options on the left, and "APPLY FILTERS."
