a. Related local and regional collections:
The Seattle Public Library and the King County Library System have religious materials of a more popular nature. Seattle Pacific University and Seattle University provide seminary training and have strong library collections in evangelical Protestant Christianity and Roman Catholicism, respectively.
b. Cooperative loan arrangements:
The Center for Research Libraries serves as an extension of the religion collection, providing access to foreign dissertations, newspapers, major microform collections, and other research materials. The UW is a member of the Orbis Cascade Alliance. UW faculty, staff and students may request materials from other Orbis Cascade Alliance members through the UW Libraries Search.
c. Cooperative acquisition projects:
Recommendation for purchase of expensive, low use material is made to the Center for Research Libraries. Informal cooperative collection development with other Orbis Cascade Alliance libraries may be practiced. The Orbis Cascade e-book project allows UW patrons to view/acquire electronic books that are accessible to and jointly owned by all member libraries.
