BIS 306: Marine Diversity and Conservation (Maxwell): How do I connect Google Scholar with UW Libraries?

Google Scholar

Google Scholar can be easily configured to tell you which of your search results can be accessed for free via the UW Libraries, and will even provide a direct link to the resource in the catalog. It is a good idea to search UW sources if you can't find what you need with Google Scholar. Unfortunately, Google Scholar cannot show you everything available.

1. From the Google Scholar homepage, click the three bars in the upper left corner, and then on the "Settings" option that appears at the bottom of the resulting menu.

2. On the next page, click the "Library links" option that appears in the left-hand menu.

3. Using the search box, search on "University of Washington" to reveal the access link labeled "University of Washington - Full Text @ UW."

Check the box next to this option, then click "save."

Note: Open WorldCat - Library Search is a default setting. You do not need to change it.

Tip: If you don't see the "University of Washington - Full Text @ UW" link on the first page of results, click the ">" icon to see more results.
