How to Search

Databases work by matching your search terms with the items in the database, in this case words in news stories.  Generally when searching a library type database, link your search terms with the word "and".

Searching is a bit of an art so be creative and use a variety of search terms and strategies in order to find the best articles on your topic.

The UW Libraries has thousands of newspapers - current issues in paper and online; historical issues on microfilm and online.

Access many current and historical newspapers online in library databases through the E-Newspapers page which lists newspapers by geography - Washington State, United States, and World.  News research guide also provides access to newspapers by ethnicity, date, and more.
