E-Books at UW: Introduction

This guide will help address questions about:

• Searching for e-books in the UW Library
• Downloading available books from major vendors onto computer and mobile devices
• Understanding the limitations imposed on e-books by vendors

Things to Note:

• Not every book from the UW Libraries is available in an electronic format. Please use the Searching for E-Books page for instructions on how to filter search results to only see e-books.
• All e-books may be viewed and read online in your browser, but not all are available for offline reading/downloading.
• Downloading and printing e-books varies based on item and vendor. The Access & Use Chart can be used to determine these levels of access.
• Download periods for items vary.
• Open Access Books, with this symbol , can be viewed by anyone accessing the UW Library
