The Journal of Authentic Learning is an online research journal that provides a forum for dissemination of original ideas in research, practice, and theory of authentic learning and teaching in a wide variety of contexts. Authentic learning involves: real-world problems that engage learners in the work of professionals; inquiry activities that practice thinking skills and metacognition; discourse among a community of learners; and student empowerment through choice. Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Authentic Learning should describe education research that addresses these components in some way.

The American Journal of Distrance Education is the internationally recognized journal of research and scholarship in the field of American distance education. Topics include methods and techniques for distance teaching and learning as well as management and administrative topics such as policies, theories, and values that drive distance education. Distance education describes teaching-learning in a review of existing literature. Authors are advised to ensure that their work is appropriately grounded in a review of the existing literature. Submissions are accepted with the understanding that they will be subject to review and editorial revision and that they neither have been nor will be published elsewhere.
