National First-Generation College Student Celebration

For many higher education institutions, November 8th is recognized as a national day of celebration and advocacy for first-generation college students across the nation. At the UWB/CC Campus Library, we are proud to serve and celebrate first-generation students across campus.

Library Celebration Pop-Up
This year, UW Bothell and Cascadia Campus Library invites our shared campus to our First Generation College Student Celebration Pop-Up on Thursday November 7th, 2024 from 11am to 1pm in the library lobby. We will have fun celebratory activities and first gen resources. All UWB and Cascadia students, staff, and faculty are invited to stop by, grab a snack, a first gen button, swag, and share your thoughts and first gen pride by answering reflective prompts on our display board, share your story, write encouraging words for first gens, explore our First Gen Library Guide online, and other fun activities. Everyone (even non first gens) is encouraged to participate. This is an opportunity to show your support for first gens. The pop-up will remain for November 8, the official First Generation College Celebration Day, and the week after for continued participation. Come by and show your first gen pride and support!

UWB First-Generation Student Celebration
UWB Orientation and Transition Programs is holding a 3-day celebration for first-generation students and will include the chance to win prizes and treats, academic resources, and career resources for first-generation college students.
