Introduction

"The Legislative Branch creates the laws (in the chambers of Congress), the Judicial Branch interprets the laws (in the courts), and the Executive Branch enforces the laws (through regulations)."

The Judicial Branch of the United State Government encompasses the Supreme Court and the lower federal courts (U.S. District Courts, U.S. Courts of Special Jurisdiction, and the U.S. Court of Appeals). The Judicial Branch is sometimes referred to as the federal judiciary, meaning the system of US, or federal, courts that have the right and power to decide whether a law or act is constituitional.
